I studied Geology many years ago and have wonderful memories of field trips to Cornwall and the Jurassic coast.
These vessels are influenced by the coastal rock formations. Each piece is initially hand carved in clay using the Japanese Kurinuki method. A plaster mould is then built over the clay which is then removed and the mould cleaned before being packed with glass powders and frits (fine grains of glass).
